Financial Support and Visa Process for International Students
Typically, international applicants are not eligible for federal forms of financial aid. YSN admits international students without regard to their ability to pay and considers them for institutional aid using the same criteria as domestic students. International applicants seeking institutional aid (scholarship) must complete an International Student Financial Aid Application, available through the YSN Office of Financial Aid. Those who demonstrate financial need or meet criteria for award of merit aid may be awarded scholarships covering a portion of tuition.
U.S. immigration regulations require that the university have proof of full financial support before an I-20 can be issued. If additional family members are accompanying the student to the United States, additional financial support is required to account for their health insurance and living expenses. The Office of Financial Aid may request detailed financial information from newly matriculating international students for these purposes.
