The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) supports over 8,500 international students, faculty, staff, and dependents at Yale. OISS assists with employment, immigration, personal and cultural adjustment and provides general information about living at Yale and in New Haven. As Yale’s representative on immigration matters, OISS helps international students and scholars maintain lawful nonimmigrant status in the US.

OISS offers daily English conversation groups, workshops, bus trips, and social events to help the international community connect and access resources at Yale and New Haven. The International Spouses and Partners at Yale (ISPY) community organizes a range of programs and events for spouses and partners. The OISS website provides valuable information for international students and scholars before and during their time at Yale, and they can connect virtually through Yale Connect, Facebook, and Instagram.

The International Center, located at 421 Temple Street, is a welcoming place for students and scholars to attend events, check email, enjoy coffee, or meet with friends. It offers meeting space for student groups and events by university departments. For more information, visit https://oiss.yale.edu/about/hours-directions-parking.
